About the position

We’re looking for an experienced content strategist to play a key role in the development of our Content Marketing and Digital PR products within the broader Organic Search department at Banc. This role would suit an experienced Content Marketing or Digital Professional who is looking for the next step in the career – and offers a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills and grow into a strategic role within a friendly, well-established team with slick processes and mature ways of working. We are open to hearing from candidates who are experienced in either Content Marketing or Digital PR for this role – and who are passionate about broadening their knowledge in new areas.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Creating and owning the Content Marketing and Digital PR Strategies for a selection of your own clients, while supporting the direction of junior colleagues’ campaigns.
  • Producing client strategy documentation, competitor analyses, research pieces and monthly performance reports to drive the development of client campaigns.
  • Leading and delivering Digital PR campaigns from end-to-end (ideation, research, data gathering, asset creation and outreach) to produce positive offsite results for clients.
  • Producing content briefs for our copywriting team, asset briefs for our creative team and technical research/investigation projects for our SEO team.
  • Conducting content audits of clients’ websites and conducting/monitoring keyword research to inform content planning.
  • Assuming a leadership role within the team; responsible for resource management and quality assurance across client work completed by junior colleagues.
  • Taking an active role in your own personal development as well as that of junior colleagues – identifying knowledge gaps and supporting skill diffusion within the team.
  • Acting as a role model and champion for the Content Marketing & Digital PR team both internally and externally – continually suggesting new ideas and improvements to enhance our product and benefit client performance.
  • Working closely with the Digital Strategy Director and Production Lead to improve our Content Marketing & Digital PR offering – as well as developing new and hybrid products which we can offer to clients.
  • Eventually taking over line management of junior employees – responsible for development, performance and support.
  • Developing a holistic understanding of how to ‘join the dots’ between Content Marketing, Digital PR and Technical SEO – helping to create a compelling and well-rounded Organic Search proposition for clients and inform the future structure of the team.
  • Owning various administrative duties – such as checking reports and documents, monitoring budgets, and maintaining project planners, ideas banks and journalist lists.
  • Attending client meetings and supporting the Client Services and Strategy teams with documentation and insight.
  • Representing the team within our strategy review process; sharing performance information, opportunities, and working with other channel teams to ensure alignment.

Skills & qualifications

  • 4 years’ experience executing Content Marketing and/or Digital PR campaign strategies – either agency or in-house.
  • A deep understanding of Content Marketing and Digital PR, and the roles they play in SEO and digital brand awareness.
  • An excellent knowledge of different content types and formats and the roles each plays in the customer journey.
  • A solid working knowledge of SEO theory; can use technical and positioning insights to inform Content and Digital PR strategy decisions.
  • A clear understanding of digital marketing practices across B2C and B2B business models, and how they differ.
  • The ability to map out new processes from start to finish and implement these across the team.
  • The ability to keep an eye on the ‘big picture’ and think of ways to better achieve shared team goals.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with an ability to identify additional opportunities when working across client accounts.
  • First-class communication and organisational skills, with strong emotional intelligence and attention to detail.
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude and ambition to continually step outside your comfort zone, trialing new ideas and ways of working.
